MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 21, 2001
The City Administrator felt that it will be possible to evaluate conflicting
proposals. He also noted that any developer that submits a proposal will know
the market and will propose something that works. The Administrator noted
that in the RFP he tried to incorporate the range of options that the City will
consider. He suggested that the Council see how developers respond to the
RFP.
Scalze did not feel the Phase II property was townhome property. She felt a
senior townhome development would be more appropriate on the Winter
property should that ever redevelop given it abuts single-family residential.
Fahey suggested that the City concentrate on Phase 1 and II at this point and
that Phase III be dropped. The Administrator did not feel the City will get a
proposal for Phase III at this point. Scalze did not feel Phase III should be
dropped at this point given that the property is for sale.
The Council directed the Administrator to make some minor wording changes
in the RFP. It was also decided that the timeline should be moved back by one
week.
Mr. Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOI UTION NO. 2001-I1-264 -PROCEEDING WITH REQUESTS FOR
PROPOSALS FOR RETAIIJS'ENIOR HOUSING DEVELOPMENT IN
THE RICE STREET/LITTLE CANADA ROAD AREA AS DISCUS.S`ED
THIS EVENING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) Anderson, Scalze, Montour, LaValle, Fahey.
Nays (0).
