MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 5, 2000
*APPOINTING KATHY GLANZER AS THE CITY'S DATA
PRACTICES RESPONSI737.E A UTIIORITY;
*SETTING COUNCIL MEETING DATES FOR THE SECOND AND
FOURTH WEDNESDAY'S OF EACH MONTH BEGINNING AT 7:30
P.M. FOR THE YEAR 2000;
*DESIGNATING THE LII.LIE SUBURBAN NEWS AS THE CITY'S
LEGAL NEWSPAPER FOR THE YEAR 2000;
*APPROVING THE REVISED LEGAL RETAINER AGREEMENT
WITH.SWEENEY, BORER, SWEENEYAS SUBMITTED AND
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITYADMINISTRATOR TO
EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY;
*APPROVING AN EXEMPTION FROM GAMBLING PERMIT FOR
ST. JOHN'S MEN'S CL UB SNOW GO DINNER TO BE HELD ON
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2000;
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Morelan.
Ayes (5) LaValle, Morelan, Scalze, Pedersen, Fahey.
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
R.J. MARCO The City Administrator submitted to the Council an amendment to the
DEVELOPMENT development agreement with R. J. Marco relative to the redevelopment
AGREEMENT of the car wash property located on Rice Street. The Administrator also
recommended assignment of the purchase agreement to Little Canada
North, LLC. The Administrator indicated that Briggs & Morgan have
reviewed the amendments as well as the assignment of purchase
agreement and are comfortable with these actions.
The Administrator summarized the development agreement amendments
for the Council. He reported that due diligence requirements have been
completed as required. He noted the potential sale of Outlot A on the
proposed plat for this property, noting that the value of the lot is less than
originally thought given that the lot does not have street frontage.
Proceeds realized from the sale of Outlot A will reduce the City's
obligation under TIF.
The Administrator further noted that the subdivision of Outlot A may have
to occur by a metes and bounds description given that the outlot is not a
part of the redevelopment project area and the plat will not likely be
recorded prior to the finalization of the TIF paperwork.
