MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 26, 2000 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 26th day of January, <br />2000 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs . Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Public Works Dir. Mr. Greg Schroeder <br />Market Place Mr. Bob Grootwassink <br />Market Place Mr. Mark Hotzler <br />Olsen Thielen Mr. Ken Vohs <br />Zoning Administrator Ms. Elizabeth Mursko <br />Deputy Clerk Mrs . Kathy Glanzer <br />MARKETING The City Administrator reported that the City has received one <br />OF RICE STREET/ proposal for the marketing of its property at the northeast corner of <br />LITTLE CANADA Rice Street and Little Canada Road. The Administrator pointed out <br />ROAD out that the proposal calls fora $2,000 per month retainer with no <br />PROPERTIES guarantee of results. He also reported that he contacted other realty firms <br />to try to determine why they did not submit proposals. No firms <br />responded to this inquiry. <br />The Administrator indicated that he received a call from someone <br />interested in developing a 30,000 square foot office building; however, <br />they have many parcels to consider and have not presented them to their <br />client yet. The Administrator also reported that the owners of the Market <br />Place Shopping Center are interested in developing the DeLonais property <br />and possibly extending that development down Rice Street to Little <br />Canada Road. <br />Fahey and Scalze asked about the theater concept for the Rice/Little <br />Canada Road area.
