MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA JANUARY 26, 2000 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 26th day of January, 2000 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following members of the City Council were present at roll call: CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen Council Member Mrs . Beverly Scalze ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson Public Works Dir. Mr. Greg Schroeder Market Place Mr. Bob Grootwassink Market Place Mr. Mark Hotzler Olsen Thielen Mr. Ken Vohs Zoning Administrator Ms. Elizabeth Mursko Deputy Clerk Mrs . Kathy Glanzer MARKETING The City Administrator reported that the City has received one OF RICE STREET/ proposal for the marketing of its property at the northeast corner of LITTLE CANADA Rice Street and Little Canada Road. The Administrator pointed out ROAD out that the proposal calls fora $2,000 per month retainer with no PROPERTIES guarantee of results. He also reported that he contacted other realty firms to try to determine why they did not submit proposals. No firms responded to this inquiry. The Administrator indicated that he received a call from someone interested in developing a 30,000 square foot office building; however, they have many parcels to consider and have not presented them to their client yet. The Administrator also reported that the owners of the Market Place Shopping Center are interested in developing the DeLonais property and possibly extending that development down Rice Street to Little Canada Road. Fahey and Scalze asked about the theater concept for the Rice/Little Canada Road area. The Administrator reported that the parties interested
