MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 5, 2000
The City Administrator noted that the pond is on private property, and
agreed that the pond will have to installed as an amenity in order to satisfy
the property owner. The Administrator pointed out that the pond has been
designed to drain a large area, which will maximize the development
potential of surrounding properties.
The City Administrator reported that the County has just indicated that the
new traffic signals at Little Canada Road and Rice will have to be
installed. This will add about four weeks to the process, delaying the
advertisement for bids. The Administrator was concerned that a delay in
the bidding process will result in a higher bid. He also expressed concern
about the difficulties associated with a fall project. Therefore, he
suggested that the best course of action might be to bid the project in the
fall with constwction to begin in the Spring of 2001.
It was the consensus of the Council to move forward with the project for
construction in 2000.
The City Engineer indicated that he will finalize plans and specs for the
traffic signal. These will require approval of the County as well as
approval for Municipal State Aid funds. The Engineer and Michael
Schroeder will also continue to coordinate their efforts in the project
design.
The City Administrator reported that the Council will be kept updated as
to the status of this project.
There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
.~
Mich el I.
