MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 13, 2000 <br />Fahey suggested deleting the reference to two stories in the Development <br />Plan, thus not limiting buildings to two stories. He also suggested that the <br />Plan show a preference for senior housing. <br />Morelan pointed out that allowing buildings greater than two stories in <br />height would be placing an emphasis on residential uses versus <br />commercial. Morelan pointed out that with residential comes increased <br />parking requirements, etc. <br />Fahey then suggested taking out the reference to two stories and not <br />limiting the.residentialuse to senior housing. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-6-146 -ADOPTING AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 91 S OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE, <br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY PROVIDING FOR <br />SENIOR/BLDERLY HOUSING IN THE PLANNED UNIT <br />DEVELOPMENT "PUD"ZONING DISTRICT AS SUBMITTED BY <br />THE CITY PLANNER AND ADOPTING APPENDIX E TO THE <br />DEVELOPMENT GUIDE CLARIFYING THE FIFTH BULLET BY <br />ELIMINATING THE REFERENCE TO NON-SENIOR HOUSING AS <br />WELL AS ELIMINATING THE REFERENCE TO TWO STORY <br />BUILDINGS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen. <br />Nays (1) Morelan. Resolution declared adopted. <br />CONCEPT Steve Muellerleile, Land Holding Company, appeared before the Council <br />REVIEW - requesting concept review for a townhome development proposed on <br />LAND HOLDING property lying between Park Street and Rice Street. Muellerleile reported <br />COMPANY that they are currently having a wetland delineation done of the property <br />and should have the results in two to three weeks. The results of that <br />delineation will allow them to determine how many townhome units can <br />be developed on the site. The concept before the Council estimates six <br />two-unit buildings. Estimated value of the townhomes is $250,000 per <br />unit. They will consist of 1,700 to 1,800 square feet and have two car <br />garages. Muellerleile felt that the townhome project would provide a <br />good buffer between the commercial and residential areas. <br />Fahey agreed that the use was a good transitional one.
