MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 27, 2000
Scalze noted that in reviewing CUP's for outdoor storage, the Code
Enforcement Officer has indicated that there can be no exterior storage in
closer than 10 feet to the rear yard and side yard lot lines. Scalze noted
that Evans' plan show storage up to the property line.
Evans reported that the Code Enforcement Officer had indicated that the
plan was acceptable as presented.
The City Planner agreed that the City has applied the standard that there
can be no storage within 10 feet of the rear and side property lines and 40
feet of the front property line.
Scalze asked that staff obtain a copy of the report on the original CUP for
Council review. Council temporarily tabled discussion of this matter
pending receipt of the report.
LOT Fahey opened the public hearing to consider the combination of lots
COMBINATION- located at 3252 and 3254 Rice Street. It was noted that the City Planner
3252 AND 3254 and the Planning Commission have recommended approval of the lot
RICE STREET combination.
Morelan asked if the building has a sprinkler system. Tom Dunsmore, the
building owner, replied that it does not. He indicated that he actually
owns three units. If he were to combine all three units, it was his
understanding that the sprinkler requirement would come into play.
However, it did not when only two units were combined.
There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on
this matter.
Upon motion by Fahey, seconded by Morelan, the public hearing was
closed.
Mr. Morelan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2000-9-225 -APPROVING TIIE LOT
COMBINATION OF 3252 AND 3254 RICE STREET A.S
REQUESTED SUBJECT TO COMPLIANCE WITHAI,I, IIUILDING
AND LIFE SAFETY CODES
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze.
Ayes (5) Morelan, Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Pedersen.
Nays (0).
