MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 8, 2000 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 8`~' day of June, <br />2000 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />Vice Chair Rick Montour called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Ms. Faith Kraemer <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />MEMBERS ABSENT <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Dan Licht, City Planner <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, Deputy Clerk <br />MINUTES There being no corrections to the May 11, 2000 Planning Commission <br />minutes, those minutes stand approved as submitted. <br />TEXT The City Planner pointed out that at its last meeting, the Planning <br />AMENDMENT Commission recommended in favor of the rezoning of 433 Little Canada <br />AND Road from Residential Business to Public in order that a public charter <br />CONDITIONAL school could locate on the property. The City Council expressed concern <br />USE PERMIT - with the rezoning based on the fact that if the property were sold to the <br />433 LITTLE school district, it would be taken off the tax rolls. It was then suggested <br />CANADA ROAD - that other options be pursued by the charter school, specifically a <br />CHARTER Zoning Code amendment which would allow public schools as a <br />SCHOOL conditional use. The Planner indicated, however, that if public schools are <br /> allowed as a use in any zoning district, should the school district purchase <br /> the property, it would come off the tax rolls. <br />The Planner reported that there are two options before the Planning <br />Commission this evening. The first is to reiterate its support for the <br />rezoning of the property to public. The second would be to amend the <br />
