Special Meeting -- January 28, 1954 <br />(1) 7n determining what cash the Town had on hand <br />at the time the Village wa.a incorporated, <br />should work authorized and begun prior to <br />that date but not yet paid be chargeable <br />against such cash balance? <br />(2) The Fire Station in Czladstone is located in <br />5 lots which are in the name of the Town- <br />sh1p. The Fire Station in Little Canada <br />is on one lot which. is in the name of the <br />Township> Should these lots be valued on <br />the basis of purchase price paid by the <br />Town or must these lots be valued as im- <br />proved property including in such value <br />the value of the buildings? <br />(3) What legal problems, if any, exist with <br />reference to the accounting in respect to <br />the distribution of the last real estate <br />tax monies distributed to the two units <br />of government by the County Auditor in <br />1953? <br />Discussion of tYze foregoing questions and the neces- <br />sity for obtaining answers to them led to the question of whe- <br />ther or not legal counsel should be procured by the Tocon and <br />also by the Village inasmuch as one individual presently acts <br />as attorney for each of these units. The question of the advis- <br />ability of engaging counsel is to be determined by each unit of <br />government at their next monthly meetings so that fiathur work can <br />be done on the matter of division of assets. <br />There being no further business to come before the meet- <br />ing, it was adjourned. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />er <br />- 2 _ <br />
