Special Meeting -- `zne 29, 1954 <br />43 individuals residing along Edgerton Street between County Road <br />"B2" and LaBore Road, this portion of Edgerton Street being within <br />the immediate vicinity of Kelbe's property for o:hich beer license.. <br />applications had been submitted. {The petition is attached to and <br />made a part of the minutes of this meeting.) After some discussian <br />Loeffler moved, Nadeau seconded, a.nd it was <br />"RESOLVED, That Mr. Ralph. Ke1be be granted <br />a license to sell 3.? beer an and off sale a.nd <br />also a cigaret license a.s requested in his ap- <br />plication." <br />Ayes _ 5 Nays -• 0 <br />The resolution was adopted, <br />Mr. Melaneon informed the Council that he ha.d withdraz~rn <br />any ob,jeotions he might have had. to granting Mr. Ke1be a license <br />but that he zJas very much. disappointed and put out about the let- <br />ters which he had received as mayor of the village from Sheriff <br />Gibbons. The mayor stated further that he had had numerous phone <br />calls favoring the granting of Mr, Ke1be's 1lcenses and. had had no <br />substantial number of objections. <br />The next order of business was a. request from Clarence <br />Lessman, caretaker and custodian of St. John's Sehool, that he be <br />granted some special or regul.a.r police authority by the village <br />for the purpose of conl;rolling young people particularly. Upon <br />motion by Vitale, seconded by Nadeau, it vaa.s <br />"RESOLVED, That Clarence Lessman and Leonard <br />Runestrancl be appointed regular police officers <br />of the V111age with full powers as such, it be- <br />ing understood that a.t the present time tYae Vil- <br />lage krill pay them no compensa.tior.." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution. otas adopted. <br />IJpon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Spooner, the meeting <br />adjourned at 9815 P.M. <br />Respect~t}11y submitted, <br />.~ 2 - <br />
