MINUTES OF TIIT!~ MEETING <br />OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL CF TIIE <br />VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA <br />~ ~ as ae av <br />The regular meeting of th.e Council of the Vi1la.ge of <br />Little Canada was held at the Little Canada. Fire Station on Tues- <br />day, July 6, 1954 at 7;30 P.M. The following Council members were <br />presento <br />Louis W. Mela.ncon, Mayor; Roy P. Nadeau, <br />Clerk; Carl Spooner, John M. Vitale, <br />Trustees< <br />EdtR~ard R. Loeffler, Trustee, was a.bsent> <br />Milner. t~. Carley, vi7.lage engineer, and Oscar Londin, vi1-- <br />lage inspector, were both present. The meeting t~ras ca.]_1ed to order <br />by the mayor at 7030 p.M. The first order of business wa.s the <br />reading of th.e minutes of the regular and speoial meetings held in <br />June. The minutes were approved as read. <br />Mr. Carley, village engineer, submitted a complete written <br />report on all village roads. He stated that though the roads are 1n <br />fairly good shape, there should be some oiling, blading and sanding <br />done. He said that he had made arrangeinent,s with the county to <br />blade certain streets in the village and .he waited for three hours <br />but no one from th.e county engineer's office showed up. As a result <br />of this, Mr. Carley has made arrangements with a private concern to <br />come in a.nd do this work and he asked the Council for permission to <br />go ahead and also to authorize the use of about 600 gallons of oil <br />for oi]_ing gutters. <br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Spooner, it was <br />"RESCLV.ED, That Mr. Carley be authorized to <br />do the necessary road. work a.nd to hire the ser- <br />vices of such private labor and equipment a.s is <br />necessary to get the work done." <br />Ayes - 4 ATays 0 <br />The reso7.ution wa.s adopted. <br />The clerk read a letter written by A4r. Carley in reference <br />to Labore Road which is presently being constructed by Richard. Boss. <br />Mr. Carley stated in his letter that the village should accept a. cash <br />deposit of `?285.00 from I~fr. Boss and the village itself should com- <br />plete the work. <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Vitale, it eras <br />"RESOLVED, That the vi1.l.age accept a cash de- <br />posit of Two Hundred Eighty-five Dollars 0285.00) <br />
