Regular Meeting - December 10, 1958 i-. The Village Attorney pointed out; to the Couneil that a portion of Noc;l Street, north of h].ttle Canada Road, directly across from St. Johns Cemetery i.s partially encroached upon by private property, according to fhe descriptions ].n a 'rorrens 12egistration Proceeding which was determined by the District Court in 1943. Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Nadeau, it was "RESOLVED, That the Village Attorney be and is hereby directed and authorized to negotiate for the purchase of that portion of the Registered Property Ownership, which is located in the Noel Street right-of-way." Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 The resolution was adopted. Mr. Carley, Village Engineer, reported to the Council on his negotiations with the State Highway Department concerning the installation of aderyuate culverts and stornnvaters drainage at Highway #36 and McMenemy Road. He advised the Council that the State Highway Department has now decided that it will onlarge the stornnvai:er pipes at no expense to the Village. Mr. Ted Lillie, publisher of the 12amsey County Review, North Sto Paul, appeared before the Coxuxcil and stated that he wanted to have the Council consider naming the Ramsey County Review as its legal newspaperfor 'the year 1959.. He handed copies of his paper 'to the Councilmen and gave some figures regarding circulation, etc. He stated that he will make a special effort to solicit subscriptions in Little Canada. Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Vitale, it was "RESOLVED, 'Phat the Village Attorney be and i.s hereby authorized and directed to appear before a meeting of the Ramsey County Legislative Research Committee, a group made up of all members oi' the Legislature from Ramsey County, and request that legislation be enacted during the coming session which will authorize the Village to obtain additional police service from the Ramsey County Sheriff by contractual arrangement with the Ramsey County Board of Coimnissioners and that such legislation be set up as permissive and not manda'tory.° Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 Mr. Oscar Lundln reported to the Council that he has placed red tags on two dilapidated buildings on the property owned by Mrs. Ho G. Costello, which is located between Edgerton Street and Lake Garvais, and further that he, as Building Inspector,reeommends condemnation of these buildings. Upon motion by Nadeau, seconded by Loeffler, it was "RESOLVED, That the Village Conncil., acting upon the recommendation of. its Building Inspector as provided by the Village Building Code, does hereby condemn the two buildings - 4 --
