MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF <br />THE VILLAGE OF' LITTLE CANADA <br />* ~ ~ <br />Pursuant to call, a special meeting of the Council of the Village of <br />Little Canada was held Wednesday, dam"-~, 1959, at 9:00 p.m. at the Firo Hall <br />at 440 E. Little Canada Road. The following Council members were present: <br />Louis W. Rlelancon, Mayor; Walter F. Coenen, Clerk; Edward R. <br />Loeffler, Trustee. <br />Carl Spooner and John M. Vitale, Trustees, were absent. <br />'1 he meeting was ca:i.led to order by Mayor Melancon who stated that this <br />meeting was called by him for the purpose of voting on the petition for re^-zoning <br />the property owned by Mr. & Mrs. Wi111arn Klein, from Farm Residential to Commercial. <br />'rhe Clerk read the petition of Mr, & Mrs. Klein, requesting the re- <br />zoning of their property on 2930 Rice Street. The Clerk reported that the petition <br />was in proper order, and that a Certificate of Ownership accompanied the petition <br />so that it is apparent that more than 50% of the property owners within 500 feet <br />have joined in this petition. <br />Mayor Melancon announced that the petition was being heard, and asked <br />if t ere were any persons present who wished to oppose the re-zoning petition. No <br />person, either in the audience or in the Council opposed the request. There being <br />no opposition, the matter came up for vote, <br />I)pon motion by Loeffler, seconded by Aelancon, it was <br />~~I2ESOI,VED, that the property described as: <br />All of the South half: (S~) of the South half <br />(S~) oii the Northwest quarter (NWT) of Section <br />G, Town 29, Range 22, lying Vilest of the Soo <br />Line Railroad Company Right-Of-Way. <br />be and is hereby re-zoned from Farm Residential to Commercial <br />subject, however, to the restriction that the Commercial use <br />to be made of this property would be for food market and <br />shopping center, and that the Council will grant no building <br />permit for any other type of Commercial use, <br />Ayes - 3 Nays-0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Upon motion by Loeffler, seconded by Melancon, the meeting adjourned at <br />7:30 p.m. <br />,Attest 1?e spec gully submitte / ~ ~ / <br />,. ~.. <br />~ .
