SPECSAL MLf;l'T.NG <br />A special rneeting of the Council of the V'illagv of Little Canada. <br />was held at the Little Canada Fire Department Building, 4q.0 Little Canada Road, <br />at 'j:30 P.M. on Mednesday, February 24, 1960, pursuant to a call for said meeting <br />issued by the Iviayor. <br />Present vrere: I,. 1VIelancon, V1. Coenen, J. Vitale, Ed Loefflex, and. <br />Carl ;;pooner.. Also present was Frederick P. Il4emmer, Village Abtorney. <br />The meeting eras called to order at x:30 P.M. <br />Mr.. Border and Mr. Squires, both .residents of Roseville, appeared <br />before the Council and explained that they have been engaged i.n the contracting <br />business, constructing residential buildings. They stated that they vrere inter- <br />ested in rezoning the property north of South Owasso Boulevard, east of the <br />Soo Line Railroad right-of-way, to be used for the purpose of establishing a <br />mobile home park. .After considerable discussion, i.t was decided that the Council <br />vrould view the premises and would continue the hearing at the regular meeting on <br />Gdednesday, P•4arch 9th. Since this matter came up as a hearing on a petition to <br />rezone the property described as a part of the I11Y`n- of idE~ of Section 6 lying <br />east o.f Soo Line Rai:lroa,d right-of-way, it was decided that Che hearing be <br />formex].,y continued. <br />iJpon motion by Spooner, seconded by l~oeffler, it was <br />RESOLVED, that the hearing on the petition for rezoning offered by <br />Ivor. Borden and NIr. Squires be, and is hereby, continued to Wednesday, Iwlarch 9th, <br />at '8:30 P. M. <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />Pursuant to notice duly given and published as required by ordinance, <br />the matter of rezoning Block 17., Rice Street Motor Line Addition, came on for <br />hearing. <br />Upon motion. by Vitale, seconded by Ivielancon, it vras <br />RhSOLVliD, that the property described as Block 11, Rice Street Mo{;or <br />Line Addition be, and is hereby, rezoned. from residential to commercial since i.t <br />i.s in the best interest of the Village and the citizens thereof that said property <br />be so rezoned. <br />Isyes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />Upon motion by Spooner, seconded by Loeffler, the meeting• adjourned <br />a,t 8:35 P.
