MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA <br />* + ~- <br />The special meeting of the Council of the Village of Little Canada was held at <br />the Little Canada Fire Hall, 440 E. Little Canada Road, on November 10, 1964 at 7s30 <br />P.M. The following Council members were present= <br />Carl Spooner, Mayor; Walter Coenen, Clerk; Edward Loeffler, Joseph Collova, <br />and M. Gene Jespersen, Trustees. <br />Mr. Roy P, Nadeau appeared before the Council and stated that he has negotiated <br />sale of his home property to M. D. F. Development Co. of 2956 Rice Street. He stated <br />that the traffic generated by the new freeway and inconveniences which occur as a <br />result of all this traffic has compelled him... to give up this property as a homesite <br />and he had decided to acquire property elsewhere in the Village. He introduced Mr. <br />Mi.chard Stoekstead, who explained that his company had purchased the Nadeau property <br />for the purpose of erecting a service station and that he was asking the Couneil~s <br />permission to proceed with these plans. He indicated that the station would probably <br />not be erected for a year or more and i£ the buyers were able to obtain additional <br />adjacent property, they may consider some type of business other than a filling <br />station for the corner. <br />Upon motion by Loeffler, seconded by Collova, it was <br />"1RESOLVED, the permission be and is hereby granted to the M. D. F. <br />Development Co. to erect a service station on Little Canada Road <br />and Interstate Highway 35E." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Mr. John Vitale appeared before the Council and presented a plat for the <br />proposed development of the former Herman Lang property West of Arcade Street on <br />a peninsula jutting into Lake Gervais. He indicated that presently 37 lots could <br />be developed in this area, each lot larger in size than that required by the new <br />zoning ordinance. He indicated that the streets would be built at the developers <br />own expense and. that Carley & Associates firm had prepared the list in accordance <br />with Village ordinances as to street size, lot size, etc. - - .w~ _..w._... <br />Upon motion by Loeffler, seconded by Coenen, it was ` <br />"RESOLVED, that the Village tentatively approve this plat provided <br />that the developers sign an agreement to be drafted by the Village <br />Attorney to provide for street construction, street maintenance, <br />and any other factors pertinent thereto and that such agreement be <br />recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />Upon motion by Collova, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RA;SOLVE"D, that the County hhgineer~s equipment be engaged for <br />
