MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
OCTOBER 10, 2019
Torkelson stated that there are pedestrian bridges over I-35E every half
mile or so from downtown to County Road B, and then there are none
after that. Mr. Weber stated that the City should recommend to the
Metropolitan Council that our population estimate be bumped up a little
since the City is already at the 2030 estimated number. He noted that the
City has plenty of capacity in its roadways and sanitary sewer system for
growth.
The City Administrator reported that staff is working on revising the
existing land use map to better address the actual land uses, and stated that
the city engineer will update the map in GIS. Mr. Weber noted that the
City Code could use quite a bit of updating and the Planning Commission
agreed. He stated that he is putting together a list of issues for further
discussion, and noted that some may be part of the Comprehensive Plan
and some may just be topics that are just brought out as concerns and can
be addressed at another time. The City Administrator stated that if the
Commissioners have any issues that they want to add to the list, they
should submit them to him and he will pass them on to Mr. Weber.
The City Administrator reminded the Commission of the joint workshop
with the City Council on October 23 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the
Comprehensive Plan together with Mr. Weber.
ADJOURN There being no further business, Schwalbach adjourned the meeting at
7:56pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Heidi Heller
City Clerk
-2-
