<br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Date: Thursday, May 14, 2020 <br /> <br />To: Chair Schwalbach and Planning Commission <br />From: Corrin Wendell, AICP, Community Development Director <br />CC: <br />Re: 2040 Comprehensive Plan Overview and Update <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />Chair Schwalbach and Planning Commission members: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission is asked to review the final draft of the City’s 2040 Comprehensive <br />Plan. The City is in the process of completing the 2040 Comprehensive Plan, the Plan has been in <br />the process of being drafted is now in the final draft stage. Bill Weber from Weber Consulting will <br />present the overview of the final draft and open up the discussion to the Planning Commission <br />members and audience for any public comment. <br /> <br />FINDINGS <br /> <br />At the Planning Commission meeting, Bill Weber will present on the following items: <br /> <br />1. Purpose of the Plan <br />2. Planning Process <br />3. Major Themes <br />4. Elements of the Plan <br />5. Summary of Comments Received <br /> <br />Next Steps: <br />At the May 20th City Council Meeting, the Council will hold a public hearing and consider a <br />resolution to authorize the Metropolitan Council to review the Plan. Next steps after submitting <br />the Plan to the Met Council will include: receiving feedback from the Met Council, having the Met <br />Council find the Plan complete, the Plan will then go through the meeting process including the <br />Community Development Committee, Environment Committee, and the full Metropolitan <br />Council. Once the Met Council has authorized the Plan to be placed into effect, the City Council <br />will adopt the final official plan. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br />To review and comment on the Little Canada 2040 Comprehensive Plan final draft. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
