MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
AUGUST 15, 2008
Pechmann asked about a property that might have three tenants, but is
allowed only 2 storage containers. The Planner indicated that the property
owner would have to determine the allocation of the containers among his
tenants as part of their lease agreements.
Pechmann recommended approval of the Text Amendment to the Zoning
Code regulating the number of storage containers allowed by Conditional
Use Permit in the I-1 District allowing one storage container per 7,500
square feet of property as recommended by the City Planner in his August
8, 2008 report.
Motion seconded by Socha.
Motion can•ied 6 - 0.
ZONING The City Planner indicated that the Commission has before it updated
AND drafts of the Zoning Code and Subdivision Code revisions. The Planner agreed to provide more definition, including
highlighting that storage containers can be a maximum size of 10 feet by 40
feet.
The Planner noted that the graphic showing setbacks for accessory
buildings and garden sheds will be corrected to show a 3 foot setback for
garden sheds. He will also label the "rear yard" on the corner lot shown.
The Planner indicated that he would add a reference to the frequency with
which dumpsters have to be dumped to 903.020 O. Exterior Storage given
recent code enforcement problems with this issue.
The Planner asked the Commission for their position on whether or not the
3-story building height limitation in the business and commercial districts
should be eliminated.
