Residential District Fences. <br />a. Boundary Line Fences. In all parts of Little Canada, zoned residential (farms <br />excepted), no boundary line fences shall exceed four (4) feet in height except that: <br />(1) Fences on all corner lots erected within thirty (30) feet of the intersecting <br />property line shall be subject to the visibility triangle setback of 30 feet <br />found in Section 903.020.H. of this Ordinance. <br />(2) Fences along any rear property line which is also the rear property line of <br />an abutting lot shall not exceed six and one half (6-1/2) feet in height; <br />(3) Fences along a rear or sidq property line which line constitutes the side lot <br />line of an abutting lot shall not exceed six and one half (6 1/2) feet in <br />height for a distance as calculated in iv. below and shall not exceed four <br />(4) feet in height within the required building setback from any publiq <br />right of way. <br />(4) Subject to other restrictions within this section, fences may be constructed <br />to a height of six and one-half (6 1/2) feet on or along the side yard <br />property Line from the rear lot line to a point equaling the front building <br />line of the principal building. <br />(5) In those instances where a fence exists as an enclosure which restricts <br />access from the front to the rear yard, a gate, identifiable collapsible <br />section, or other such means of recognizable ingress shall be provided for <br />emergency vehicles. Such ingress shall be unobstructed and a minimum of <br />ten (10) feet in width. The location of such ingress points shall be <br />positioned at any point paralleling the front lot tine, between the side lot <br />property line and the principal structure. <br />(6) All boundary line fences in residential districts shall be constructed in <br />such a manner not to obstruct or divert natural storm water drainage flow. <br />b. Interior Yard Fences. <br />(1) Any fence erected within any portion of the required front yard shall not <br />exceed four (4) feet in height and shall be at least twenty-five (25) percent <br />open. <br />(2) Within a rear yard, at a point five (5) feet beyond any properly line, a solid <br />fence up to six and one-half (6 1/2) feet in height may be erected as a total <br />enclosure. Said enclosure may encompass the entire rear yard, plus extend <br />to the front building line of the principal building, shall have adequate <br />means of emergency access, and shall conform to other specialized <br />requirements of the Little Canada City Code as may be amended. <br />(3) Chain link or woven wire fences (without slat screens) used for the <br />enclosure of tennis courts or other such recreational purposes shall not <br />exceed ten (10) feet in height and shall be located in a rear yard only. <br />Little Canada Zoning Ordinance General Provisions <br />903-9 <br />
