SIGNS. [The Sign section has been previously adopted with Ordinance 637,]
A. Purpose. This section is established to protect and promote health, safety, general welfare and
order within the City of Little Canada through the establishment of a comprehensive and
impartial set of standards, regulations and procedures governing the type, numbers, size,
structure, location, height, lighting, erection, use and/or display of devices, signs or symbols
serving as a visual communication media to persons situated within or upon public rights-of--way
or properties. The provisions of this subdivision are intended to encourage opportunity for
effective, orderly communication by reducing confusion and hazards resulting from unnecessary
and/or indiscriminate use of communication facilities, as well as to provide adequate opportunity
for travelers to find their way through the community, and to specific points within the
community. Such hazards result in unsafe traffic conditions, including threats to vehicular and
pedestrian travelers. The regulations herein have been narrowly tailored to meet these purposes.
Little Canada Zoning Ordinance General Provisions
903-34
