Hanson <br />After reviewing the Planning Commission minutes regarding Roger Lillemoen's <br />Conditional Use Permit,l wanted to include a memo with the Council agenda packet <br />addressing the outdoor storage. There is discussion during the meeting about storage for <br />Mr. Lillemoen, his tenants, and rental storage for non-users of the building. It is my <br />understanding that the Planning Commission's intent was to deny the CUP request fol• <br />outdoor storage of tenants not occupying a portion of the building. The Planner <br />colnlnented that a property owner is eligible for storage related to his business as well as <br />stol•age of personal recreational vehicles and equipment. However, the final motion <br />denied any outdoor storage. <br />1 believe the City Council should request clarification from Mr. Lillemoen regarding his <br />intentions for the storage area. Tf the storage is for accessory items relating to a business <br />occupying space within the building, city staff believes that is within the city code. Tn <br />addition, if the storage is related to Mr. Lillemoen's business or personal <br />vehicles/equipment, then that is also within our code provisions. City staff does agree <br />with the Planning Commission recommendation to deny the CUP request for rental <br />storage given the Council's discussions regarding that matter. <br />Lastly, if the Council decides to approve Mr. Lillemoen's CUP for storage of his personal <br />recreational vehicles and equipment, there should be further discussion on the Vaz~iance <br />request for height limitations, as his vehicles would exceed the height limitation <br />provisions of our zoning code. <br />14 <br />
