STAFF REPORT
TO:Mayor Keis and Members of City Council
FROM:Bill Dircks, Public Works Director
DATE:September 11, 2019
RE:Twin Lake Update
Despite the heavy rainstorms the level of Twin Lake has continued to drop and as of Thursday,
September 5, the lake was below the casting of the manhole (see picture below). The sandbags that
were placed at the low home on Twin Lake were also removed on September 5. Staff believes they
will be able to complete the raising of the manhole early the week of September 9 and shut the pump
off.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a motion authorizing staff to request removal of the six-
inch Northern Dewatering pump system as soon as the sanitary sewer manhole structure has been
raised.
