MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />AUGUST 11, 2021 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a Workshop meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 11 th day of August, 2021 in the Conference Room of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the following members of the City <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Keis, Council Members Fischer, Torkelson, McGraw & Miller. Absent: <br />None. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Chris Heineman, Finance Director Brenda Malinowski, <br />Public Works Director Bill Dircks, Parks & Rec/Community Services Manager Bryce Shearen, <br />Community Development Director Corrin Wendell, and City Clerk/HR Manager Heidi Heller <br />FACILITY ASSESSMENT SURVEY <br />The Public Works Director reviewed when the City Hall, history center and Fire Station were built. <br />He explained that Council approved hiring Kraus Anderson to perform a facility survey of City Hall <br />and the Fire Station. He stated that Krause Anderson was hired to do a facility survey, which is <br />now complete. The Finance Director explained how past building improvements have been funded, <br />and noted that staff would now like to plan 10 years out instead of only 5 years. <br />Jason Rentmeester and Tim Kittila from Kraus -Anderson gave a final overview of the facility <br />survey they conducted on City Hall, the History Center and the Fire Station in June 2021. Mr <br />Kittila stated that a report was completed that outlines the recommended improvements for each <br />facility as well as projected costs, different options, and a timeline for when the work should be <br />completed. He explained that the City Hall/history center building is reaching a critical milestone <br />in a building lifecycle with major fixes pending, including HVAC deficiencies and bathroom ADA <br />compliance issues. <br />The total amounts of deferred maintenance improvements needed per facility (in today's dollars): <br />- City Hall $1,113,969 <br />- Fire Station $1,742,231 <br />- History Center $103.638 <br />TOTAL $2,959,838 <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:17 p.m. <br />7 2,, 14� <br />,-- ohn T. eis, Mayor <br />Attest* <br />UUA4 �1� <br />Christoph Heineman, City Administrator <br />
