Staff Report <br />TO:Mayor Keis and Members of City Council <br />FROM:Heidi Heller, City Clerk <br />DATE:December 18, 2019 <br />RE:Public Hearing for 2020 Pawn Brokers & Second-Hand Goods Dealers Licenses <br />Renewal of Pawn Brokers License: <br />Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry - 2750 Rice Street <br />Renewal of Second-Hand Goods Dealers Licenses <br />Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry - 2750 Rice Street <br />Christian Life Ministries – 2756 Lake Shore Avenue <br />Joe’s Sporting Goods - 33 County Road B East <br />Quality Furniture – 2900 Rice Street <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Motion to approve the renewal of a Pawn Brokers License and Second-Hand Goods Dealers <br />Licenses for Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry, Christian Life Ministries, Joe’s Sporting Goods and <br />Quality Furniture for January 1 – December 31, 2020. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The above-referenced businesses have made application for renewal of their licenses for January <br />1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. Application materials are available for your review upon <br />request. <br />The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department has reviewed the calls for service at these businesses, <br />and has no concerns relative to the renewal of the licenses. Staff has not yet received the <br />background checks from the Sheriff’s Department. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />City staff recommends renewal of the licenses as requested, subject to receiving satisfactory <br />background checks from the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department and receiving the license fees <br />from Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry.
