Kasma, P.E., City Engineer <br /> <br />DATE: February 4, 2020 <br /> <br />RE: Little Canada Road - Streetscape Improvements <br /> <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Motion to award the Little Canada Road Streetscape Improvements. Depending on which bid <br />alternate the City Council selects, the award amount will range from $523,723.50 to <br />$578,730.50. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On January 28, 2020 bids were opened for the City’s Streetscape Improvements. The project <br />consisted of the following bid options. The 6-foot concrete <br />walk (located near the property line) will provide a consistently smooth and unobstructed surface <br />for both walking and snow plowing. This concrete walk will be easy for the city to maintain as <br />any necessary repairs over the years can be seamlessly integrated into the standard 6-foot by 6- <br />foot panels. The existing pavers in the boulevard space will be salvaged and reinstalled to <br />maintain the character of Little Canada Road. This boulevard space will house street furnishings <br />(light poles, signage, etc.) and will act as a snow storage area in the winter. While the pavers may
