<br /> <br /> <br />Originally, the work was going to be accomplished using City staff, but after a more thorough <br />review of the area and the equipment and precision needed, it was decided that it would be best <br />for an experienced contractor to perform the work. Quotes were obtained from ten contractors, <br />and Blackstone Contractors provided the low quote at $42,160.00. The entire bid tab is included <br />with this report. <br /> <br />SOURCE OF FUNDS: <br />Since the project was originally going to be handled by City staff, it was not included in the 2020 <br />budget. Staff has received the reimbursement check for $73,000 from FEMA and the State of <br />Minnesota for the County Road B2 storm sewer washout repair work completed in 2019. Staff <br />recommends using a portion of the reimbursement funds to pay for the Morrison project. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Staff recommends awarding the Morrison ditch cleaning project to Blackstone Contractors in the <br />amount of $42,160, and using funds from the County Road B2 FEMA reimbursement to pay for <br />the project. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Bid tabulation <br />Map of Morrison wetland area <br />Plan set <br /> <br />
