STAFF REPORT <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council <br />FROM: Brenda Malinowski, Finance Director <br />DATE: May 5, 2020 <br />RE: 2020 1st Quarter Financial Report <br />INTRODUCTION: <br />Attached is the General Fund Financial Report for the 1st Quarter with comparison information <br />for the 1st Quarter 2019. <br />General Fund Revenue <br />Since property tax collections are not received until July and December each year, only 2.82% of <br />the budgeted revenue has been collected through the 1st quarter of 2020. This is slightly lower <br />than the past years. 2019 was an exception when a significant building permit was collected during <br />the 1st quarter. <br />Highlights: <br />•Building permits issued by month for the last three years are as follows:
