City of Little Canada 8-16 Water Supply Plan
46BProgress since 2006
TIs this your community’s first Water Supply Plan? We did upgrade our water meters in
the City to an automated reading system so we have the ability to detect leaks and call or send letters to
properties that have a leak so that it can be repaired before it leaks too long. The meters also provide
more accurate readings as some of the older meters were no longer in the acceptable accuracy range.
We have also repaired some leaks in our system and have the system checked for leaks every other
year. Weather has played the biggest role in conservation. The last two summers have had much more
precipitation, which has led to a decrease in irrigation water used. We have published articles in the City
newsletter discussing water leaks and how to test for them in your home. We also have an automated
metering system, which allows us to notify customers of potential leaks.
