Water
Water consumption billed over the last five years has been relatively flat.

Note-Includes St Paul Beverage that is on Little Canada Water but on Maplewood Sewer.

The billed water consumption as compared to consumption billed to the City by the Saint Paul Regional
Water Services (SPRWS) has trended well over the last five years at over 95%.
Three of these years have been above 99%.

Note-Lower percentage billed in 2017 due to a large water main break.

Future Water Rate Increases
In reviewing the water rates, consumption billed was held flat and capital outlay needs to 2034 were
included in the rate analysis. Based on a 3% percent increase in operating expenses per year, the rate
increases are estimated to continue at 3% percent per year in the future.

Future rate increases will be analyzed during the budget process each year and may change from the 3%
percent increase per year. Items that may change the 3% increases are such things as operating expenses
higher or lower than a 3% increase, consumption billed changes, or changes in the contract with SPRWS
that expires at the end of 2021.
