2
Unlike the Summer 2020 project, the Fall 2020 project reimagined the RCP Fellow’s relationship
with Little Canada, with one Fellow completing a paid internship with the City, one Fellow
completing a Directed Study through the university, and three others contributing their time as
volunteers. Given this restructuring and tri-fold engagement approach, the RCP Fellows divided
into sub-teams, each of which worked independently on one branch of the larger project:
1.Vipasha Bansal, Kyle Franta, and Kendra Klenz: Survey
2.Gunnar Carlson: Focus Groups & Interviews
3.Catherine Bruns: Youth Art Project
Final Report Summary
Over the past three months, the Fellows conducted the community engagement work in their
selected project area. Now, each sub-team is in the process of reporting their findings to their
teammates, City staff, and Commissioners for the purposes of crafting overarching
recommendations for the Pioneer Park Master Plan. The Final Report, to be submitted to City
Council next week, will include detailed exit reports from each sub-team, including stakeholders
reached, methodologies implemented, data collected, and analysis results, all of which will be
used to inform the team’s recommendations to the City. The preliminary materials presented in
this document include a status report of each team’s ongoing analysis and early results, as well
as selected graphs and visual examples. Additional information from each team will be shared
during the City Council workshop on December 16.
