<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Bryce Shearen, CPRP, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Manager <br /> <br />DATE: February 10, 2021 <br /> <br />RE: Pioneer Park Engagement <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to accept University of Minnesota Resilient Communities Project (RCP) Final Report. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In 2020, the City partnered with the University of Minnesota Resilient Communities Project <br />(RCP) Team for community engagement on future enhancements to Pioneer Park. <br /> <br />The RCP team gave a presentation at the December 16, 2020, City Council workshop and has <br />now submitted their final report to the City. The final report is separated into three documents <br />on each of the focus areas, Youth Engagement, Focus Groups & Interviews, and a community <br />survey. The documents can be found on the city website at <br />https://www.littlecanadamn.org/599/Pioneer-Park-Planning. <br /> <br />As we prepare for the next steps in the planning process, staff would like to hear from the City <br />Council if there are any concerns with the engagement report and if there are any areas that may <br />need further clarification. <br /> <br />NEXT STEPS <br />After receiving feedback and input from the City Council, staff is recommending a joint <br />workshop with the City Council and the Parks and Recreation Commission to discuss priorities. <br />Staff is proposing that this joint meeting be scheduled a special City Council workshop from <br />5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the City Council approve a Motion to accept University of Minnesota <br />Resilient Communities Project (RCP) Final Report. Staff also recommends City Council <br />approval of a special joint workshop with the Parks and Recreation Commission on Wednesday, <br />March 10 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />
