Kasma, P.E., City Engineer <br /> <br />DATE: March 10, 2021 <br /> <br />RE: Allen Avenue Street Improvements <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Motion to approve Partial Pay Estimate No. 6 to OMG Midwest, Inc. dba Minnesota Paving & <br />Materials in the amount of $29,694.01 for the Allen Avenue Improvement Project No. 2020-01. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />We have met with the general contractor and negotiated final quantities for the project. This <br />partial payment represents those final quantities and reduces the retainage on the contract to 2%. <br />The only remaining work is punch list items to be completed in the Spring after road restrictions <br />are removed. The 2% retained is $14,800 and is sufficient to get the contractor back onsite to <br />complete the improvements. <br /> <br />The total amount earned by the Contractor to date is $741,393.20. Amount paid previously is <br />$696,871.33. Withholding a 2% retainage, the amount due is $29,694.01. <br /> <br />SOURCE OF FUNDS: <br />Street and utility improvements will be funded through the City’s Pavement Management Fund <br />and special assessments. Sidewalk improvements will be funded thru the CDBG. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve Partial Payment No. 6 in the amount of <br />$29,694.01. <br />
