<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Corrin Wendell, AICP, Community Development Director <br /> <br />DATE: May 12, 2021 <br /> <br />RE: Zoning Code Text Amendments <br /> <br /> <br />ACTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED <br /> <br />Adopt Ordinance 854, amending Chapter 912, the B-3 and B-4 Zoning Districts, to accommodate <br />a new Massage Therapy and Tattoo/Body Art type of business and update language, and authorize <br />summary publication of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />FACTS <br /> <br />• The City is bringing forward text amendments to update the Zoning Code to include <br />allowance as a permitted use, Massage Therapy and Tattoo/Body Art in Sections B-3, <br />General Business District 912.020 and 912.040 (I), Section B-4, Comprehensive Business <br />District 912-A.020 and 912-A.040 (I) within the Zoning Code. <br />• The City has received requests for these types of uses, but one of the uses was not listed in <br />these two zoning districts and the other is currently a Conditional Use Permit. <br />• In order align with future Zoning Code update language, be business friendly, and provide <br />less hurdles for these types of businesses, the amendment is necessary to move ahead of <br />the Update schedule, which would be later this year. <br />• A Public Hearing will be held at the City Council Meeting on May 12, 2021 to open up <br />public comment. <br />• A public hearing notice was sent to the Pioneer Press for publication. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />Staff Report
