<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Heidi Heller, City Clerk <br /> DATE: May 26, 2021 <br /> RE: Canadian Days Fireworks Contract <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Approve the 2021 contract with RES Pyro for 2 nights of fireworks on July 30 & 31, 2021 for <br />Canadian Days. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Attached is the 2021 Canadian Days Fireworks contract with RES Specialty Pyrotechnics, Inc. <br />After City Council discussion, it was decided that since the fireworks were canceled last year, <br />the City would pay for two nights of fireworks in 2021. The Council approved a total amount of <br />$15,000 to be paid from the 10% Gambling Fund. RES Pyro will provide the City and Canadian <br />Days with a $5 million liability insurance policy. RES Pyro has been the fireworks vendor for <br />the past several years, and the city and Canadian Days have been very satisfied with their <br />performance. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br />City staff recommends approval of the 2021 contract with RES Pyro for two nights of fireworks <br />for a total cost of $15,000, subject to submission of the proof of insurance. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
