<br />o Public works contained street salt and asphalt savings of $10,000 due to favorable weather
<br />conditions. In addition, there were street striping savings of $19,000 for striping that did
<br />not need to done in 2020.
<br />o In the community services, the parks and recreation department realized savings
<br /> $20,000 for two seasonal positions not hired due to COVID-19 social distancing
<br />restrictions, and a reduction in maintenance services needed due to restrictions for
<br />programming opportunities.
<br /> $12,000 for savings in the outside recreational services contract that was placed on
<br />hold, due to decreased programming opportunities from COVID-19 restrictions.

<br />The largest capital asset purchases in 2020 for the governmental activities were the 2020 street
<br />improvements, which included Greenbrier Street and Allen Avenue. For the business-type activities, a
<br />pump was reconditioned at the booster stations and a portion of sanitary sewer was lined in conjunction
<br />with the 2020 street improvements. Additional details of capital asset activity for the year can be found in
