Compressed Schedules: A traditional 40-hour workweek is completed in less than the <br />standard (5) workdays. It involves longer but fewer workdays, so that you can complete <br />traditional 80 hours during each biweekly pay period in less than the traditional 10 workdays <br />(note: agreements must be put in place with unions for non-exempt/hourly employees). <br /> <br />The two most common schedules are: <br />• 4-10 in which you work (4) 10-hour days each week of the pay period and have one day <br />off each week. <br />• 5/4-9 in which you work (8) 9-hour days and (1) 8-hour day in the pay period, having a <br />set day off every other week (requires HR approval for non-exempt employees). <br /> <br />D. Remote Work: Work conducted at home or another off-site location on a regular basis. Due <br />to the limited number of city staff members, a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours of remote <br />work per pay period will be considered as part of a regular work schedule. <br /> <br />Roles and Responsibilities <br /> <br />Eligibility - Department Directors and the City Administrator must consider the following items <br />before executing a Workflex arrangement: <br /> <br />A. The most appropriate Workflex schedule for the employee and the department, and <br />the nature of the employee’s position. <br />a. Not all positions are eligible for all types of Workflex. A position that has a <br />primary responsibility of 1) providing customer service or 2) requires on-site
