<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br />Current Toro Z-Turn Mower New 2021 Toro Z Master Lawn Mower <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Bryce Shearen, CPRP, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Manager <br /> <br />DATE: October 13, 2021 <br /> <br />RE: Purchase of Toro Z Master Lawn Mower <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to approve the purchase of a Toro Z Master Model 72946 from MTI for $10,847.30. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The current zero-turn (Z-turn) lawnmower was purchased in 2016 and is scheduled to be <br />replaced in 2021. The zero-turn lawn mower is a critical piece of equipment for maintaining the <br />parks and city-owned open spaces and is used daily throughout the growing season. <br /> <br />Staff worked with MTI Distributing Inc., which has the state contract (Contract # - 188861) for <br />Toro mowers, and received a quote for $12,347.30. MTI will also give the City $1,500.00 for <br />the trade-in of the current z-turn mower. <br /> <br />SOURCE OF FUNDS: <br />The replacement of the z-turn lawnmower is included in the 2021 Capital Improvement Plan and <br />the 2021 Budget. The funding source is the General Capital Improvements Fund (Fund 400). <br />The total budgeted cost is $12,500. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Staff recommends approving the purchase of a Toro Z Master Model 72946 for $10,847.30 after <br />trading in the 2016 Toro z-turn for $1,500.00. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
