Also included in the survey were color pallet options for the playground and two different styles of open-air picnic shelters for the neighborhood to vote on. A flyer was created with a link to the survey that was distributed to all the residential properties adjacent to the park and staff worked with the onsite management company to get flyers distributed to all the residents of The Provinces Apartments. Option #1 Vendor: St. Croix Rec Cost: $148,000 (community build available) Primary Features: This design was developed specifically for Little Canada’s needs and to bring joy and excitement to the children and families directly benefiting from the new playground. The main feature is a Nucleus system that provides dynamic height to create a new experience and to view the world from different angles. The design offers a lot of different areas for dynamic movement utilizing slides, ropes, and spinners, swings. The design also includes an accessible swing and the ability to add on more accessible ground units. Total Play Events: 43+ Maximum Play Event Height: 10 ft. Option #2 Vendor: Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground Cost: Approx.$165,000 Primary Features: The main feature of the design provides play activities that promote and enhance physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development. The design also includes a six- place swing with traditional swings, ADA swings, and Expression swings. Total Play Events: 40+ Maximum Play Height: 10 ft. Option #3 Vendor: Flagship Recreation Cost: $150,571.73 (community build not provided in proposal) Primary Features: Tree Tops is a three-tower system with integrated tall shades inspired by natural ‘Tree Tops.’ This (new) non-traditional play system provides for multiple types of new climbing and sliding experience including a new 8’ tall slide. This system provides great challenges and tower connections enable great games to be played. This design also includes a Cozy Dome (quiet small space attractive to those on the autism spectrum), an accessible 4 place Wee-Saw and an accessible group (Oodle Swing), and Vibra chime musical (sensory) instruments.
