MINUTES <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />November 7, 2019 <br />The Community Services Manager reported youth activity registration was <br />still open for youth basketball. He explained Don Bowman was talking <br />with the schools and counselors to let them know scholarships are <br />available for these programs. Chu asked what ages can participate in the <br />program. The Community Services Manager stated the program is open to <br />children in grades three through eight. He stated ice skating and <br />gymnastics would also be offered this winter. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager stated registration was also open for <br />adult broomball. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager congratulated Rose Chu who was <br />elected to the Roseville School Board. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager thanked Annie Leibel for her service <br />taking the minutes over the past few years. He explained Leibel would <br />take the minutes for the November and December meetings, and then <br />would no longer be taking the minutes as she has moved to Southern <br />Minnesota. The Community Services Manager stated the City will <br />contract with a minute taking service starting in January, and there will be <br />no changes to the meeting. He noted the service would take the minutes by <br />watching the tape. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager reported Rose Chu and Ron Horwath’s <br />terms were coming due, and up for reappointment. <br /> <br />Abruzzese explained that she had created a map of spaces that need bike <br />racks throughout the City’s public spaces. She explained this had been a <br />roadblock that had come up when talking about the Parks and Recreation <br />Priorities. Abruzzese stated she would share these with the Community <br />Services Manager so that the City could determine new bike rack <br />locations. <br /> <br />Horwath moved the meeting be adjourned <br /> <br />Motion seconded by Chu. <br /> <br />Motion carried 6 – 0. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:12 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Anna Leibel <br />Recording Secretary <br />ADJOURN
