STAFF REPORT
TO:Parks & Recreation Commission
FROM:Bryce Shearen, CPRP, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Manager
DATE:August 6, 2020
RE:Presentation by Ron Fulford Jr. with iBall4Life
BACKGROUND:
Ron Fulford Jr. will be at the Parks & Recreation Commission meeting to give a presentation on
iBall4Life and potential partnership with the City for enhancements at the Pioneer Park
basketball court and the possibility of a fundraising event.
iBall4Life was founded in 2015 by Ron Fulford Jr., who loved the game of basketball and
decided he wanted to build an outreach brand company of his own that will specialize in
reaching out to the youth and the local community.
The enhancements presented by Mr. Fulford will help create a new and fresh look. An updated
affordable facility will also encourage Little Canada youth in the neighborhood to have space to
practice their skills and help provide a pathway to success as they continue to grow.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff would like the Commission to provide feedback and direction on if moving forward with
partnering with iBall4Life and potential Pioneer Park basketball court enhancements is
something of interest.
