<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Parks & Recreation Commission <br /> <br />FROM: Bryce Shearen, CPRP, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Manager <br /> <br />DATE: September 3, 2020 <br /> <br />RE: Spooner Park Lower Shelter <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to approve staff recommended shelter option and move forward with obtaining formal <br />quotes for the Spooner Park Lower Shelter. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Identified in the Parks Master Plan, the Spooner Park Lower Shelter is needing an update and <br />enhancement to better serve the needs of the community. <br /> <br />“The lower picnic shelter area is getting loved to death – update it to enhance the shelter <br />and meet the demand” – 2018 Park System Master Plan <br /> <br />This project was programmed in the 2020 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) with an estimated <br />cost of $75,000 to complete the work. Staff worked with Bolton & Menk to present options for a <br />new open-air picnic shelter for the lower shelter. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Current Shelter
