STAFF REPORT
TO:Parks & Recreation Commission
FROM:Claire Hoffman, Recreation Coordinator
DATE:October 1, 2020
RE:Farmers Market Recap
The Little Canada Farmers Market season ended on September 28. The market had run 13 weeks
beginning in July. There were seven or eight vendors each week including two returning farmers,
a Master Gardener, three new farmers, and local food businesses. Various community interest
booths could not attend due to COVID 19 restrictions. The Market was well received this year,
with an average of 240 attendees every week, which is up from 175 last year. Little Canada
Parks and Recreation attended a booth at nine Markets and was able to greet visitors, hand out
program information, and answer questions about City events. Staff looks forward to continuing
to grow the market for the 2021 season by adding more vendors, community groups, and
interactive opportunities.
