Reports from Staff. A. Upcoming Gateway Signage Task Force - Update <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />A request for a Planning Commission member to serve on the Welcome to Little Canada <br />Gateway Signage task force has been made to the City Council. <br />BACKGROUND <br />One of the strategic directions identified in the City’s 2019 Strategic Plan was Enhancing <br />Identity and Empowering Community with the initiatives to increase community engagement <br />and enhance/broadcast our identity. One piece of that initiative is looking at updating the City’s <br />welcome signs that are located along the Little Canada border in various locations. Along with <br />updating the design and branding of the sign, the committee will discuss and provide insight on <br />the locations of signs and if additional locations should be considered. <br />At this time, it is anticipated that a time commitment of 1-2 hours a month over the next six <br />months will be asked of the task force members once the task force has been formed. Meeting <br />dates and times have yet to be determined. <br />The proposed task force members are: <br />1 – City Council Member - TBD <br />1 – Parks & Recreation Commission Member – Peter Schletty <br />1 – Planning Commission Member – Dawn Kulousek <br />1 – Little Canada Historical Society Member – TBD <br />3 or 4 – City Staff – TBD <br />SOURCE OF FUNDS <br />At this time funds have not been identified for Gateway Signage. Recommended actions from <br />the task force will help staff identify the funds needed. <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br />The Welcome to Little Canada Gateway Signage Task Force has been established.
