STAFF REPORT <br />TO:Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council <br />FROM:Eric Seaburg, P.E., City Engineer <br />DATE:March 23, 2022 <br />RE:2022 Street Improvements <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Motion to award the 2022 Street Improvements to OMG Midwest Inc. in the amount of <br />$1,329,210.94. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On March 10, 2022 bids were opened for the 2022 Street Improvements Project. The project is <br />for street and utility improvements on Yorkton Ridge, Maple Lane & Jackson Street, Ryan <br />Drive, and Woodlynn Avenue. OMG Midwest, Inc. was the lower bidder with a total bid amount <br />of $1,329,210.94. The City of Little Canada has contracted with OMG Midwest, Inc. on similar <br />projects in the past and have found their work to be timely with good workmanship. <br />The following is a summary of the bids received: <br />Bidders Total Bid <br />Engineer’s Estimate $1,346,791.75 <br />1 OMG Midwest Inc.$1,329,210.94 <br />2 T. Schifsky & Sons, Inc $1,433,913.69 <br />3 Bituminous Roadways Inc.$1,452,644.20 <br />4 New Look Contracting, Inc.$1,497,109.50 <br />5 Park Construction Company $1,549,669.89 <br />6 Meyer Contracting Inc.$2,011,549.21 <br />We are pleased to report that the City of Little Canada received very competitive bids for the <br />2022 Street Improvements Project. The low bid from OMG Midwest Inc. was 1.3% lower than <br />the engineer’s estimate and will result in a net savings to the City’s project budget.
