TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: December 11, 2015
RE: Call for 2016 Improvement Hearings

STAFF REPORT

Neighborhood meetings are being held on December 17th for the following streets:
• Demont (McMenemy to Savage Lane) – Full Depth Reclamation
• Morrison Street (Demont to south end) – Mill & Overlay
• Aspen Circle – Mill & Overlay

Each of these projects will also include curb & gutter repairs. Pending the outcome of the
neighborhood meetings, staff is asking for authority to call for improvement hearings for each project.
We would suggest they be held on any of the following:
January 11th if the Council meeting is not moved to that date – start at 6:00 p.m.
January 12th
January 25th
January 26th
If, after the neighborhood meeting, any of the projects is not recommended to proceed, we will delete it
from the hearing process.
If the Council concurs, we would need you to call for an improvement hearing to be held on one
of the dates noted above. Resolutions are attached calling for the hearings. Our City Engineer
will have a feasibility report to you prior to Wednesday’s meeting. Note: Because these projects
are city initiated, we need four affirmative votes to order the improvement.
