MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 22, 2008
Mayor and Council for their service. He also noted that the Mayor and
Council salaries have not been increased for the past 12 years. Keis
agreed that the salaries should be kept in line with what other cities are
paying, not only for the present members, but future ones.
Allan indicated that she did not feel this was an appropriate time to
increase Mayor and Council salaries given the current economic
conditions. She felt that any increase in salaries would take dollars from
other things that the City could accomplish.
Blesener felt the increases were appropriate and noted the great deal of
time that he and the Council spend performing their duties.
Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.2008-10-277 -ADOPTING ORDINANCE NO. 660
INCREASING THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL SALARIES
EFFECTIVE JANUARY I, 2009 TO $475.00 PER MONTH FOR THE
MAYOR AND $385.83 PER MONTH FOR EACH COUNCIL
MEMBER
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (4).
Nays (1) Allan. However, given the
amount of time required of Commission members, it was the consensus of
the Council to increase this compensation effective January 1, 2009.
Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2008-IO-278 -INCREASING PLANNING
COMMISSION COMPENSATION TO $40 PER MEETING AND
PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION COMPENSATION TO $30
PER MEETING EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2009
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0).
