<br />2023 Project Area <br />To date, staff submitted for and received a grant from MnDNR for $300,000 and the Little <br />Canada Recreation Association has committed up to $400,000 for the playground equipment and <br />installation. The project scope for the MnDNR grant funds was that the City of Little Canada <br />will develop an interactive water feature, picnic shelter, walkways, park furnishings and fencing, <br />landscaping, and rain gardens. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />Items identified in the CIP for 2023 <br />• Play node - $875,000 ($575,000 Fund 400 | $300,000 MnDNR Grant) <br />o Trails/walkways, interactive water feature, picnic shelter, park furnishings, <br />fencing, kiosk, drinking fountain, landscaping/rain gardens, and engineering <br />• Playground Equipment - $400,000 ($0 Fund 400 | $400,000 Donation from LCRA) <br />• Poured-In-Place Rubber Surfacing - $155,000 (Fund 400) <br />• Trail Repair - $26,000 (Fund 400) <br />Total - $756,000 (Fund 400) + $700,000 (Grant and donation) = $1,456,000 total estimated <br />project costs. **Due to supply chain issues, labor shortages, and inflation prices may change, but <br />staff and the City Engineer have done their best to get the most accurate pricing at this time** <br /> <br />NEXT STEPS <br />• Fall 2022 – 100% plan set completion and approval for project bidding <br />• Fall 2022 – Playground design completed and potentially ordered to take advantage of <br />2022 pricing <br />• 2023 – Anticipated construction <br /> <br />
