MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />February 5, 2009 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission of the <br />City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 5th day of February, 2009, in the council chambers <br />of the city center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />The regular meeting was preceded with a workshop with the City Council to review the preliminary <br />copy of the Park & Recreation Comprehensive Plan. Commissioner Kevin Steinert and Parks Director <br />Morelan were absent from the workshop. <br />Chair Linda Fahey called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. and the following members of the <br />commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />ABSENT: <br />Ms. Linda Fahey, Chair <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Ms. Katie Lolmaugh <br />Mr. Dan Slain <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />MINUTES: Steinwall made a motion to approve the January 2009 minutes, seconded by Maida. Motion <br />carried 6-0. <br />NEW <br />BUSINESS: HUOT PROPERTY DIVISION <br />Chair Fahey asked our guests to introduce themselves. Denny Claridge and Kevin Patty stated they <br />were in attendance to have the Park & Recreation Commissioners consider their newly acquired <br />property for either a land donation or park dedication fee for their proposed split of the property into <br />five lots. This property is located in the northwest corner where Edgerton Street and Little Canada <br />Road intersect. <br />Sanders explained that the northern section of the property borders on part of the Gervais Mills Pond <br />Park. That area consists mostly of wetlands and trees. There is an asphalt park trail located on the <br />north end of the property <br />Claridge and Patty displayed large maps of the property and explained their plans to possibly build on <br />the first two lots and leave the northern three lots for future development.
