MINUTES OF THE JOINT WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL WITH PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />February 5, 2009 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a joint workshop meeting of the City Council <br />and Parks & Recreation Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on <br />the 5th day of February, 2009 at the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in <br />said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the City Council and Parks & Recreation Commission were present: <br />CITY COUNCIL: <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Ms. Shelly Boss <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Mike McGraw <br />PARK & REC. Hanson <br />Parks Consultant Mr. Bill Sanders <br />P&R Com Secretary Ms. Dotty Norgard <br />Mayor Blesener asked all in attendance to introduce themselves as a few new <br />members of the Parks Commission were present. The Mayor turned the meeting over <br />to the Parks Consultant Bill Sanders. <br />COMP PLAN Sanders began with a review of the Parks Comprehensive Plan. He stated that the <br />REVIEW Parks Master Comp Plan will become a chapter of the city's Comprehensive Plan. <br />This is the city's third Parks Comprehensive Plan, as one was done in 1980 and the <br />other in 1991. <br />Sanders began the review of the Comp Plan document beginning with the <br />Acknowledgements Section. The City Administrator suggested Sanders designate the <br />service term years by each commissioner as it includes past and present <br />commissioners. <br />Sanders continued explaining there were five sections to the Plan. He began with <br />Chapter One, the Introduction Section, which explains the purpose of the plan. Listed <br />in this section are the five purposes of the plan and the planning process of designing <br />the plan. <br />Sanders went on to discuss Chapter Two, the Background and Vision of the plan. <br />Under the Population Growth section Blesener noted the Met Council's population <br />and household estimates were probably over estimated.
