MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 25, 2009 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 25th day of <br />March, 2009 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Ms. Shelly Boss <br />Council Member Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Cable TV Producer Mr. Kevin Helander <br />City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />MINUTES Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2009-3-65 -APPROVING THE MINUTES OF <br />THE MARCH 10, 2009 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING AND THE <br />MARCH 18, 2009 SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution adopted. <br />2009 The City Administrator reported that the 2009 Improvement Projects were <br />IMPROVEMENT ordered in January so that the City could advertise for bids. At that time <br />PROJECTS the Council took the position that certain components of the Improvement <br />Projects would not be finalized until the bids prices came in and the award <br />would be depending on bid results beng lower than typical costs. The <br />Administrator reported that the bids have been received and they are very <br />favorable. He indicated that based on the City Engineer's estimate, the <br />low bid for the mill and overlay projects generates a 42% savings. The <br />low bid for the reconstruction projects generates a between 20% and 30% <br />savings. <br />The Administrator noted that the concern is that this is a difficult <br />economic time for assessing improvement projects.
