MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 22, 2009 <br />The Clerk reported that the liquor businesses have been notified of this <br />evening's hearing on the proposed increases. <br />It was further noted that On-Sale Sunday License, Consumption & <br />Display License, and Off Sale Liquor License fees are regulated by State <br />Law. City staff is not recommending an increase to the 2 a.m. Liquor <br />License, On-Sale 3.2 Intoxicating Malt Liquor License, or Off-Sale 3.2 <br />Intoxicating Malt Liquor License fees. <br />There was no one present fi•om the general public wishing to comment on <br />the proposed license fee increase. <br />Upon motion by Keis, seconded by Blesener, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2009-4-86 -INCREASING THE FOLLOWING <br />LIQUOR LICENSE FEES EFFECTIVE JULY I, 2009: <br />ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE $4,067 <br />ON-SALE WINE LICENSE $588 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CUP FOR Mayor Blesener opened the public hearing to consider a request for <br />COMPRE- Conditional Use Permit for a Comprehensive Sign Plan and Variances <br />HENSIVE from the required setback for freestanding signs and from the maximum <br />SIGN PLAN allowed sign square footage for the CVS Pharmacy being constructed <br />& VARIANCES at the northeast corner of Rice Street and County Road C. Blesener <br />FROM SIGN reviewed the recommendation of the Planning Commission for denial <br />SETBACK & of the Variance requests given there was no hardship present and the <br />SQUARE applicant was able to modify the signage request to comply with City <br />FOOTAGE - Code. He also noted that the Commission recommended approval of <br />CVS the Comprehensive Sign Plan subject to conditions. <br />PHARMACY <br />The City Planner reviewed the CVS signage applications. He noted that <br />the applicant was able to relocate signage locations to meet setback <br />requirements. He also noted that total sign area was reduced to comply <br />with the Code. Therefore, the Variances that had been originally <br />requested with withdrawn by the applicant. The Planner noted that the <br />applicant is requesting a significant amount of directional signage. He <br />noted that the Code allows a property up to four directional signs, each of <br />2 <br />
